What to expect from a China Doll Facial

A layer of medical-grade carbon is applied to your skin and left to settle into the pores. The laser then passes over it, and the carbon absorbs the energy, taking oil, dead skin and blackheads with it as it's blasted away.

It takes about twenty minutes. There's a warm, tingling sensation and a clicking sound, but it isn't painful. You'll walk out brighter and tighter the same day.

One session is perfect before a wedding, a formal or a big weekend. For lasting change to texture, pore size and acne, we recommend six treatments across two months.

Aftercare

• No harsh actives (retinol, glycolic, salicylic) for five days.

• SPF 50+ daily - non-negotiable after any pigmentation work.

• Keep skin well moisturised.

• Avoid saunas, steam rooms and hot yoga for 48 hours.

• Pigmentation often darkens before it flakes away. That's the treatment working.

Which treatment do I actually need?

That's exactly what the free consult is for. Pigmentation and redness respond to the PicoSure laser; congestion, oiliness and dullness respond to the China Doll; active acne and healing respond to LED. Often we combine them.

Is it safe on darker skin?

Skin type matters a great deal with laser. We assess your skin at the consult and will tell you plainly if a treatment isn't suitable for you.

Can I have it while pregnant or breastfeeding?

We don't perform laser treatments during pregnancy. Talk to us about timing.
