Next-generation technology

We use the PicoSure picosecond laser, a high-tech approach to removing and fading ink. Through powerful laser energy and a specialised fractional lens, it breaks down pigment in the skin and stimulates new collagen and cell production.

Because the pulse duration is so short, treatment is faster and more comfortable than a traditional laser, and no anaesthetic is needed. You can expect some redness, mild swelling and tenderness afterwards. That's normal, and it settles within a few days.

Powerful, fast results

With PicoSure, energy is delivered in trillionths of a second, shattering the pigment into much smaller pieces than a traditional laser can - small enough for your body to absorb and clear away more easily.

You might need only three to four treatments to remove your tattoo, compared with six to eight on a traditional laser. Results do vary, depending on your lymphatic system, your general health and your lifestyle, and we'll talk all of that through at your consultation.

What to expect, start to finish

Your free consult. We look at the tattoo, talk through the ink, its age and your skin, and give you a realistic number of sessions and a written price. No obligation.

Patch test. For most clients we test a small area first and check how your skin responds before treating the whole piece.

Treatment. A 2cm x 2cm tattoo takes only a few minutes. You'll hear the laser and feel a quick snapping sensation. The ink turns frosted white almost immediately, which is the pigment shattering.

Healing. Expect redness, mild swelling and tenderness for a few days, a bit like sunburn. Keep it clean, covered and out of the sun. Blistering can happen and is normal.

Between sessions. We leave six to eight weeks between treatments so your body can clear the broken-down ink. Drinking water, moving your body and not smoking all genuinely speed this up.

Aftercare that protects your result

Keep the area covered and dry for the first 24 hours.

No swimming, spas or hot baths for a week.

Don't pick or pop any blisters - let them settle on their own.

SPF 50+ on the area every day until it's fully healed.

Skip alcohol and strenuous exercise for 48 hours.

Tattoo removal questions

Will it remove the tattoo completely?

Often yes, though some inks fade rather than vanish. Blues and greens used to be the hardest colours to shift; PicoSure handles them far better than older technology. If your goal is a cover-up rather than full removal, you'll need fewer sessions and it costs less.

Can you treat a tattoo someone else has already lasered?

Yes. Previously treated tattoos respond well to PicoSure, even when a traditional laser stalled.

Will it scar?

Scarring is uncommon with this technology when aftercare is followed. Any existing scarring from the original tattooing will still be there afterwards.

Can you remove cosmetic tattooing or old amateur ink?

Yes to both. Amateur and homemade tattoos often clear faster than professional work because the ink sits shallower.
